The Shikhara of the temple rises symmetrically above the central core of the temple. These spires have mathematical precision and geometric symbolism. the common principles found in temple spires is circles and turning-squares theme , and a concentric layering design that flows from one to the other as it rises towards the sky. Thus looking at the Shikhara we see that it is
made up of many miniature ones repeating themselves time and again. In fact these repeating motifs in themselves are miniature shrines(Stella,1979).
