The play is based on two short stories of Rabindranath Tagore. Written around eighty years ago, these stories are relevant for the present times. Read closely, it becomes one written for the problems of the present age. This very aspect of the narrative gives rise to a pertinent question; have we really changed? Our play, Tagore’s Women answers this very question.
The story revolves around two distinct characters; Giribala and Mrinal. As individuals, they are poles apart, but are searching for the same thing; a sense of individuality and liberty. This is a story about Two Married women who break away from fetters of turmoil and pain, to find their own freedom. This is a story of women who exhibit the courage to give rise to as many more questions as they answer. This is a story of women who decide to live life on their own terms
T.S Eliot’s ‘The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock‘ inquires into the disillusionment of a man with the times he is living in. Derived from this literary masterpiece, our performance uses the interplay of the human body to understand the poem’s protagonist and the structures surrounding him.
In the attempts to find Prufrock inside the performers’ bodies, residing alongside their own anxieties, the performance ends up creating multiple Prufrocks.
All cramped inside this overwhelming world of ours. The fractured narrative is threaded delicately by swift movements through urban landscapes.
The Metro | The Office | The Mall | Home | The Pub become witnesses to Prufrock’s constant attempts to be.
Devised by: Anannya Tripathyi (Performer), Dhwani Vij (Performer), Neel Sengupta (Director) and Rahul Tewari (Performer)

Everyone is well aware of the treacherous actions of Aurangzeb the great Mughal emperor, but what about it’s repercussions.
Aurangzeb rose and built an empire but when he fell, the stones of his very own empire made him bleed. His dying voice craved for the forgiveness and sympathy of the souls he erased from the face of the Earth. And at last, even death found it hard to swiftly reach his path.
‘Aurangzeb Ki Aakhri Raat’ is the saga that tells about all those laments which he had before his demise.

32nd Annual Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazaar
Coming January 1, art enthusiasts will get to see a mélange of colorful and traditional handicrafts, textiles and classical dance performances as artistes from India and Israel will come together to showcase their cultural legacy while cementing cultural and diplomatic ties—a vision seen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to Israel.
The 32nd edition of the annual craft bazaar which will take place at Dilli Haat, will witness the participation of around 200 artisans from different states assuring a peek into the myriad art and craft traditions.
For this year, Dastkari Haat Samiti has collaborated with Ministry of Textiles to create an interactive platform where local artisans from India and Israel will exchange their skills and art while creating intricate art pieces that are significant of artistic legacy which both the countries are known for.
Five craft persons from Israel will work with their Indian counterparts from Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan to create two completely new art pieces each combining common understandings and skills in entirely new designs under the guidance of two Indian designers. The Israel-India workshop which will be held between January 2- 14 will showcase fresh art pieces to the public. During the workshop, art connoisseurs will also get a chance to interact with artisans and watch their work in progress.
“This festival is a unique platform where our craftspeople get to interact and share their skills with their foreign counterparts. Our vision is to bring back the original essence of Dilli Haat where only those artisans who don’t get to display their work in New Delhi could showcase their work exclusively ,” says Jaya Jaitly, Founder of Dastkari Haat Samiti.
The 15 day Dastkari Haat Craft Bazaar will showcase a mix-bag of art pieces which will be created with finesse by Israeli artists in different art forms—papier machie by Vered Otmy, patchwork by Orna Shahar, embroidery in textile by Sassona Schits , paper cutwork by Janine Golbert and wire mesh by Nihad Dabeet.
The bazaar will also touch upon the important aspects of the craft producers’ life by showcasing myriad cultural performances including folk music from Rajasthan, the exotic tribal martial Chhau dancers who will be dancing as well as demonstrating the mask making from West Bengal, the mesmerizing ‘Pinguli Art’- a unique style of painting that incorporates storytelling from Maharashtra, traditional weaving and singing performances from Gujarat and soulful flute renditions by a Varanasi flute player who will be willing to teach to the interested viewers.
The annual bazaar cites to serve as a platform that provides unique inputs to the crafts sector while creating employment opportunities for local artisans.
The decor of Dilli Haat will replicate the unique papier machie art created by acclaimed folk artist from Chhattisgarh, Sundari Bai.

Asmita Theatre Group presents Swadesh Deepak’s “Court Martial” Hindi Play.
When respect is denied to a man for the only reason that he is borne by ‘low-caste’ parents, the offence cannot simply be termed as a social violence. It assumes larger proportions of crime against humanity and society at large. Yet by the turn in situation the murderer becomes a win…ner whereas the victim is unforgiving. The culprit may receive severe punishment at the hands of the law but, in fact, it is the society which is put in the docks. Court Martial, written by Swadesh Deepak, is a story of recruit Ram Chander who is tried for murdering one of his officers and injuring another.
The Court Martial is presided by a war veteran. Col Surat Singh who has witnessed many ‘life –and –death’ situation. But this trial puts him in a queer position, so far unknown to him, and during the course of interrogation he realize that the issues at stake are much larger than what meets the eye. Realizing that the Indian army is the only government agency in which reservation on caste basis is not permissible. Court Martial presents a combination of legal and poetic justice.
