Chehre – A hilarious play

Play written by a renowned writer, Shankar Shesh, this is one of our famous shows. The story starts with the death of a beloved social worker of a village. Bharose jis death was a big shock for all the senior citizens of the village. Hence they all, Bhavani ji, Parmanand Ji, Pandit Ji and Sukhlal decide to take all the villagers for his funeral. But as they take the body for the funeral, it starts to rain and they are left with a handful of people.

Now, to save themselves from the heavy rain and flood, they take shelter in a debris and wait for the rain to stop but nothing as such happens. There are other people, who also took shelter in the same debris to avoid rain and are stuck in there.

Now, the village people, seeing no sign of rain stop, start to get bored and begin to think of ways to pass their time. But they also need to maintain the seriousness of the Death. The Pandit suggests that why dont they have the Tribute Ceremony there itself. It will help them to pass their time and will also maintain the seriousness of the death.

Since everybody is in the same ruins, the other people, who have no connections with Bharose ji or his death, also get involved in the errors and blunders and create a hilarious situation.
