FILM FESTIVAL : Movie Mondays: Award-Winning New German Cinema. Introducing Movie Mondays – a new film series that will help in improving your German language skills. Watch German movies with English subtitles and learn about everyday life in Germany.
The first movies in this series have been selected from the LOLA film package. The Deutscher Filmpreis (German Film Awards, also called Lola Awards) is an annual German awards ceremony honouring cinematic achievements in the German film business.

The films we will be screening are:

12:00 Amelie rennt
(Mountain Miracle | Director: Tobias Wiemann | colour, 97 min., 2016/17)
Amelie (13) a tough big-city brat is shipped off by her parents to a special clinic in the mountains after another asthma attack. Instead of getting help at the clinic, she runs away and meets a boy named Bart, and the two embark on an adventurous journey of hope and true friendship.

14:30 LOMO – The Language of Many Others (Director: Julia Langhof | colour, 101 min., 2015-17)
Karl is about to finish high school, but contrary to his twin sister Anna he has no clue about his future and spends most of his time on the Internet with his blog “LOMO – The Language of Many Others”.

17:00 In den Gängen (In the Aisles | Director: Thomas Stuber | colour, 125 min., 2017/18)
Christian is new to the superstore. His colleague Marion likes to have a bit of a laugh and a joke with Christian. He falls in love with her, but Marion is married, albeit unhappily by all accounts. When she suddenly goes on sick leave, Christian falls into a deep hole, so deep in fact, that his miserable old life threatens to engulf him once more.
