This one day workshop will introduce you to the traditional tools and techniques involved in creating engaging, high-impact woodcut art, leaving you with your own compositions to take home and, should you wish, all the materials you need to make more.
Woodcut/Relif printing has a long history dating back to 4000 BC when impressions were stamped into clay. With the advent of paper, the Chinese printed scrolls and books in colour on such topics as medicine, agriculture and poetry in the first millennium A.D.

Shodo is the calligraphy which uses the brush and black ink. In Japan, we enjoy shodo in the special occasions such as writing the resolution at the beginning of the year. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The Weekend Theatre Workshop welcomes theatre lovers who wish to experiment with acting as well as actors who want to strengthen their acting skills. The Workshop exposes its participants to various aspects of acting, theatre methods and techniques that help them learn and improve their acting skills. It maintains a fine balance between theory and work on and behind the stage.
The Weekend Theatre Workshop culminates in a theatre performance and a certificate for the same is awarded to the participants. At the end of the course, the theatre production done by the students gives them the opportunity to bring to the stage skills and knowledge acquired during the course. The student production helps them understand how every element of theatre can come together into a full play. The participants also understand the full cycle of the production process. Few plays that have been performed are Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai, Mid Summer Nights Dream, Agra Bazaar , Circus, Muavze and so on.
Please note that new batches start every month and the duration of the course is four months with classes on Saturdays and Sundays only. The workshop timings are 1pm to 4pm or 5pm to 8pm.
The Workshop will cover the following topics
Understanding the actors physical and emotional apparatus through yoga, body movements and theatre games.
Voice development, diction, speech clarity and breathing.
Dialogue delivery and structuring.
Expressing emotions and feelings, exhibiting character personalities.
Exercises in dramatic reading.
Body movements and gait for the stage
Stage presence, importance and meanings of entry-exits, angles and stage positions
Understand elements of stage craft such as costumes, make up, sets etc.
Review of classic plays
Study of great actors.
Developing self-confidence, improving communication skills, exploring opportunities in theatre and in media.
Participants will be awarded a Completion/Competence Certificate on successful completion of the workshop.
HOW TO JOIN
Admission is done on a first come first served basis.
Candidates should be 18 years or above, having a minimum education qualification of 10th pass. There is no upper age limit for this course.
Prior acting experience is preferred but not obligatory.
Application forms are available in Shri Ram Centre. The candidate should provide one passport size photograph, an ID and address proof document (Adhar Card/driving licence/passport etc.) along with the duly filled application form.

Undivided Bengal Food Festival
Chef Rick and Maneesh Srivastava invite you for an interesting street food festival, handpicked by them from their respective states. Bihar and Bengal has so much in the connection that we decided to pick some of the best dishes for you. The chatkal factory in Bengal ( Bengal province, Bihar was also part of this) saw many labours from different parts of Bihar move to Bengal to work in jute factories. They got their food there and also brought back the food from Bengal. They have picked some of the best street food from the 2 states like phuchka, jhal muri, aloo kalbi, singhada chat that are not just famous in Bengal but famous in Bihar too. Places like Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Chapra, and other towns have a lot of Bengal influence. Festivals like Durga Puja and Saraswati puja are celebrated in both states in a very similar fashion. Warli Painting Workshop
About the Event
Do you want to expand your creative horizon and learn the different art forms existing in India?
In this course, you will learn the techniques of Warli Art. Warli paintings are believed to be one of the oldest forms of art in history. It is a tribal art mostly done by Adivasi from North Sahyadri Range in India, i.e. in western India.
This form of tribal art mainly makes use of geometric shapes such as circles, triangles, and squares to form numerous shapes depicting the life and beliefs of the Warli tribe.
The Warli tribe believes in harmony between nature and man, and often these beliefs are depicted in their paintings. The painting was done on a brown background made of mud and cow dung. The white pigment used to draw shapes and figures was a mixture of rice mixed with water and gum.
In this course, you’ll go through the following concepts –
